about me, blog challenge

31-day Blog Challenge | day 10

Wow! We’re a third of the way through already, it doesn’t seem like it though. If you want to catch up on the previous days’ posts you can start from day 1 here.

I sort of touched on the subject of today’s post back on day 2, your first celebrity crush. Now, this is going to be quite a cringe-inducing post, for me at least, but I challenge anyone to NOT have a cringy first celeb crush. 🤣

If you remember when I was talking about adopting an orca, back on day 2, I mentioned that I had also fallen for Jason James Richter. If you don’t know who that is, he was the lead in the Free Willy movies, playing Jesse.

jjrfreewilly I had posters all over my wall of him for a year or so, before he was replaced with various other stereotypical celebrity crushes, Nick Carter from Backstreet Boys and Leo DiCaprio in his Romeo & Juliet days.

Now, its always interesting, but not always a good thing, to check up on your younger crushes, to see how time has treated them. Particularly if they’ve been out of the mainstream for a while. – another teenage crush of mine, Edward Furlong, did not age so well. So, this morning, I looked up a recent picture of JJR…

jjr2018This is a picture of him in a role he played last year. The movie was called High and Outside. Not quite the cute, floppy-haired beach boy that I remember from the 90s. Oh dear.

An honourable mention should go to another celebrity I thought was cute when I was younger. Not so much of a crush, but there was definitely a soft spot for Joe Mazzello. He played Tim in Jurassic Park back in 1993. he’s aged significantly better
